Arasan Chip Systems, a leading provider of semiconductor IP for mobile and automobile SoCs, announced today the immediate availability of its 2nd generation MIPI C-PHY IP Core for 12nm, 16nm, and 28nm SoC Designs
May 15, 2019, San Jose, CA: Today, Arasan Chip Systems announced the immediate availability of its MIPI C-PHY / D-PHY Combo IP Core for 12nm, 16nm, and 28nm processors compliant to the C-PHY specification Version 1.2 while also being compliant to the D-PHY 1.2 Specification. The design can be enhanced to support the latest D-PHY 2.1 Specification upon customer request. The 2nd generation Combo PHY has been further improved from our first generation 28nm designs to support the C-PHY 1.2 Specification while being further optimized for ultra-low power. This new release will also reduce the area penalty when compared to a standalone D-PHY. Hence, the new C-PHY / D-PHY Combo is a universal PHY that allows our customers flexibility. Some customers may wish to have a D-PHY only design, but they may need to support or insure themselves for C-PHY support in future with negligible area impact.
The C-PHY is targeted towards camera sensor applications in the mobile and automobile SoCs. Arasan C-PHY IP seamlessly integrates with Arasan’s CSI Tx IP. It has been licensed by leading sensor manufacturers in Japan and the United States. Arasan’s 28nm C-PHY Testchip-based HDK has also been used by early adopters for compliance and interoperability testing. Arasan also offers it’s SD Card Controller + SD UHS-II PHY IP for external storage and the eMMC Controller + PHY IP on 12nm, 16nm, and 28nm processors as part of its mobile camera SoC solution.
The C-PHY / D-PHY Combo IP GDSII is immediately available for the TSMC 12nm, 16nm, and 28nm processors. Silicon Characterization Reports, Test Chips and C-PHY / D-PHY Combo HDK are also available to prospective licensees and Production / Compliance testers and vendors.
