The Arasan UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver/ Transmitter) complies to the standard 16C550 with FIFOs and expanded FIFOs. It performs serial to parallel conversion of data received from external device and parallel to serial conversion of data received from SDIO. Both character and FIFO modes are supported. Complete status of the UART can be read from its registers.
